During this lecture tour, Mr.J. J. Lynn found his Guru, teacher, and friend for life.

Paramahansa Yogananda said that St. Lynn, later given the monastic name of Rajarsi Janakananda, "meditated six hours with me the first day." Such was his receptivity, that in that first meeting, the Guru was able to transmit to him the experience of samadhi.

After this first meeting in January 1932, Rajarsi contributed to his Guru's work by funding the monthly publication of East-West magazine. See the forward of the April 1932 edition.
