Flowers placed at Rajarsi Janakananda’s crypt in Kansas City on May 25, 2007 for Memorial Day.
Four times each year KCMG places flowers on behalf of Sri Daya Mata and SRF.
On July 22, Brahmachari Lee, a monastic from SRF Lake Shrine will again visit our group.
We have been blessed with his visits for several years now and look forward to seeing him again this year.
Brahmachari Lee will lead our Sunday Service, then join our Sunday School for a class, followed by fellowship at the Lenexa Senior Center. More details will be provided soon.
Children’s Scholarship Program
We are happy to inform you that the Children’s Scholarship Program has been a resounding success. Thank you to all who contributed so generously with their time and donations. Thanks to your loving efforts we are providing scholarships to the four children who will attend the SRF Summer Youth Camp this summer. Danielle, April and David O’Kelley, and Yusef YaDullah will all attend. Total funds raised were $2,606 which allowed us to pay transportation for all the children and part of their registration. The children have promised to give reports on their experiences at summer camp at a future social event.
Fall Picnic
Our annual picnic will be held on September 29 at the Heartland Retreat Center. It will include a nature walk and a vegetarian barbeque. Every year both children and adults look forward to the walk to the old cemetery and the campfire. We hope you’ll join us. If you would like to volunteer to help with this event please contact Mary Anne Demeritt.
Sunday School Teacher’s Workshop
The Sunday School Teachers are looking forward to a special visit from a representative from SRF Youth Services November 9 to 11, 2007. Pat Evertz will arrive Friday evening, teach a workshop on Saturday on classroom management and then will lead our Sunday school class the following day.
2008 Monastic Tour
We are in the early stages of planning our 2008 Monastic Tour to be held May 23-25 at Unity Village. Committees are now being set up. Please contact Dwayne Savoy if you are interested in serving.
